Yachting can be an extremely enjoyable experience, but only if the yacht is ready for the waters it travels upon. One of the most important things that makes a yacht suitable for its intended purpose is the equipment it carries. So be sure to have all the necessary supplies before setting off.

Fire Extinguisher

While it may not seem important to have a device that can put out fire when surrounded by water, a fire extinguisher is indispensable when on a boat. They can not only quickly put out fires that start on the boat, but also fires that might start on land when the boat is moored.

Ropes 

Yachts at the very least should have enough rope to be effectively moored or “tied up”. 25 – 30 feet of rope is a good length to have on board.

First Aid Kit

One of the most important pieces of equipment is the first aid kit. This should have all the basics such as antiseptic, gauze, tape, band-aids and antihistamines.
