Sailing may require a good degree of skill and understanding, especially in poor weather conditions, but it’s actually quite easy to get used to and many groups of amateur sailors take these vacations around the Caribbean and the Mediterranean among other locations.

When you’re sailing in the peak months of July and August, the water is smooth and warm, and most modern sailing boats now include engines if you need to get out of a sticky situation fast.

There is of course some training involved though, and you will need to learn the basics before you head out to the open seas. Most of the time, large groups can handle a sailing boat without running into any problems, and there are always expert guides to call upon in the event of an emergency.
